Average Font

This experiment conducted in September 2011 shows what a font would look like if it consisted of all typefaces installed on my system. I wrote a little application that would draw every character from a to z using every single font with a low opacity. In total there are over 900 typefaces in my library. I didn’t exclude the ugly ones. Here’s the result.

Licensed as key visual for EXPO 2050 — A brief history of the future at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium in Brussels together with the Louvre Museum in Paris.
